Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

We moved out of the guest house where we stayed at the start and moved closer to Copacabana.  Dad found a hostel near the beach. The waves at the beach where huge and some waves where so big that they would go on top of me.

We had 3 attempts at going up the famous Christ the Redeemer. The first 2 times we did not go up because they told us that it would be too cloudy and we would not be able to see the statue but luckily on our third time we could see him really well when we got to the top.

We walked the last bit to the top.

We also went to see some stairs but they are not just any old stairs, these stairs were beautifully decorated. I was told that a man started decorating some stairs outside his house using old tiles and others that he painted. When the neighbours saw, they asked the man if he would do the same to their stairs and soon he did almost all the stairs along his street. They looked amazing!

We also went to a museum called the museum of tomorrow. It was all about the future and that the future might not have a lot of life left and most of the animals may be gone because of pollution and other human activities. But we learned that we can change that prediction if we stop using things like lots of plastic or let off less gasses.

Me holding the world at the Museum of Tomorrow.

Finally we got on a bus to a place called Paraty, but that is a story for next week.
